As a fruit full of vitamin E, avocados are great for the skin. Vitamin E is a nourishing chemical compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Compounds like this will plump the skin by encouraging cells to regenerate.

In many places, avocados can be expensive and hard to find. Especially for people living in colder climates. But as a substitute for your face mask, avocado oil can be used as opposed to the whole fruit. Use a couple of drops of avocado oil in place of the avocado. Avocado Face Mask Recipe:

NOTE: Before incorporating any new product or solution to your face, it’s important to ensure that you do not have any sort of reaction. You can check this by doing this one simple step. Once you have made up your face mask, add about a teaspoon of your avocado mix to the back of the wrist and let it sit for about 10 minutes. If there is no discomfort then you’re ready to go!

The baseline recipe for your avocado face mask is simple. Combine ½ an avocado with 1 to 3 tablespoons of honey in a small bowl. Then, after cleansing your skin with warm water, apply the avocado mixture to your face and leave it on for about 15 minutes. During this time you can practice some relaxation techniques or even try a new at-home yoga routine. There are lots of great online classes that you can try to enhance this self-care experience.

Avocado Face Mask for Dry Skin:

Ingredients:

  • ½ avocado
  • 1 tsp. almond, jojoba or olive oil

Steps:

  • Mash the avocado in a bowl then add the oil. Stir to combine
  • Apply to the face, avoiding the eye area and let sit for 15 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water followed by cool water

Honey and Avocado Facial Mask for Dry Skin: 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. avocado
  • 2 tbsp. Honey
  • 1 egg yolk

Steps:

  • Mash the avocado in a bowl. Then add the honey and egg yolk and mix until thoroughly blended
  • Apply to the face, avoiding the eye area and let sit for 10 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water followed by cool water

Avocado Facial Mask for Oily Skin: 

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado, mashed
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until thoroughly combined
  • Apply to the face, avoiding the eye area and concentrating on the oiliest part of the face (T-zone). Let dry for 20 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water followed by cool water

Moisturizing Avocado Face Mask:

Ingredients:

  • ½ avocado
  • ½ tsp. avocado oil

Steps:

  • In a bowl, mash your avocado
  • Add the avocado oil to the mashed avocado and mix thoroughly
  • Apply to the skin, avoiding the eye area and let sit for 10 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water followed by cool water

Carrot and Avocado Face Mask:

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado, mashed
  • 1 carrot, boiled and mashed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp. Honey

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients in a bowl to make a smooth paste
  • Apply the paste gently to your face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Let sit for 15 to 20 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water followed by cool water

Exfoliating Vinegar and Avocado Face Mask: 

Ingredients:

  • ½ avocado
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • ½ tsp. apple cider vinegar

Steps:

  • Peel the avocado, cut it in half and save the skin
  • Mash the avocado and mix it with the honey and apple cider vinegar
  • Apply to skin and let it sit for 15 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water followed by cool water
